 Colt Model 1911A1 S/N 770588 
    - Slide has a matching serial number. It was 
    shipped in a batch of 1,600 to the Commanding General at Springfield Armory 
    on April 8, 1942. The Barrel is Stamped COLT .45 AUTO with a P Proof Stamp on 
    the left lug and a small G "government approval stamp" just forward of the lugs.  
    Accompanying this pistol is a U.S. holster manufactured by the Sears company 
    1942 and on the inside it has the persons name nicely stamped -- W.J. 
    DICKINSON. 
      
    Left side of receiver has Inspector mark, 
    is WB inside a Box for Colonel Waldemar S. Broberg, 
    Hartford/Springfield Ordnance District, Army Inspector of Ordnance: July 1, 
    1941 - June 16, 1942.

      States Property mark and model designation. 
      
	
      Matching serial number on rear of slide under firing pin 
      stop and ghost of reverse image on firing pin stop. 
        
      P proof on top of the slide forward of
